ʻIolani Palace is the former royal residence of King Kalākaua and Queen Liliʻuokalani. Bishop Museum reaches across Hawaiian natural and cultural history through Hawaiian Hall and Pacific collections. Pearl Harbor National Memorial interprets the 1941 attack and its consequences at the harbor itself. Treating them as interchangeable “history stops” loses the reason to visit each one.

ʻIolani Palace and the civic center
A palace tour belongs with the King Kamehameha I statue, Aliʻiōlani Hale, Kawaiahaʻo Church, and the Capitol grounds. The compact walk connects Hawaiian Kingdom sites with the institutions of modern Hawaiʻi.
Kalihi
Bishop Museum needs museum time
Hawaiian Hall, Pacific collections, royal objects, and natural-history exhibits reward a visit of several hours. The museum sits outside the Waikīkī and downtown walking districts, so it works as its own substantial stop.
Pearl Harbor
